Three years ago I graduated with a degree in Marine Science! And the first 2 things I decided was I wasn't ready for graduate school, and I definitely wasn't ready to settle down in one place yet! In the past 3 years I have had the opportunity to live and work at 4 different beaches on 3 different islands in 3 different states. I have worked for state parks and environmental education centers, teaching and sharing my passion for the world that we live in.
Along with the trips that I have taken, my jobs have allowed me to have some pretty great adventures as part of my ever day life. Once I realized that my life would never be boring (and I'm 100% alright with that), I started to refer to my life as my never ending adventure. And I have fallen in love with that outlook on life.
We were made to be able to explore the world around us! And to do this I have decided to take a pretty drastic turn in my life! I've always been a sun loving Beach Bum in the South East, but this year I'm branching out to see different places and push the boundaries of my comfort zone a little (or a lot!).
In a few weeks I will be leaving the beautiful SC island that has been my home for almost a year and half and I will head towards Ketchikan, Alaska to spend 6 months working on a wildlife watching boat as the Naturalist! Some of you may think I'm crazy (and you probably aren't wrong) for leaving my beautiful sunny beaches of SC for an island in Alaska, but that's ok sometimes I think that maybe I am! But in the wise words of Jimmy Buffett "If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane!" So crazy or not, I am so excited for the beautiful place that I get to spend my summer in!
I have made more friends and memories than I could have ever wished for on my adventure for the last few years! But I am hoping this summer to add a few more!
I hope that you all enjoy following along on my journey! I don't promise that my grammar will be perfect, but I do promise that the journey won't be boring! Because ready or not...It's here, the start to a new chapter in my never ending adventure! And here's to hoping that the adventure never ends!
