And today I had to say goodbye. I have done this before, packed everything up and moved to another state. In fact today was the third time that I have moved away from the South Carolina Coast, but I have also moved back twice. This time feels a little more final. Of course I would never rule out coming back to work completely and I'm sure I will be back to visit, this place holds too many wonderful memories and people for me to never come back.
Along with leaving this beautiful state I am leaving my State Park family. Most of my college friends moved away long ago, but my constant in SC has been the park service. I started as an intern 3 1/2 years ago! And for the last 3 1/2 years my life has revolved around the park service in one way or another either in Myrtle or Edisto.
Myrtle Beach State Park is where I found me, and discovered what my passions in life are. The people I met and the park itself have had a major impact on my life, and is why I consider that to be my home. I haven't lived or worked there in over a year, but I have still managed to visit once a month. Leaving and knowing it will be at least 6 months before I return makes me a little sad.
If you were apart of my life in SC I thank you! All of you have become part of my family! And you have all taught me something along the way. I will carry a piece of each of you with me on the rest of my never ending adventures :)
So as hard as it was for me to say goodbye to SC today (I even stayed an extra night because I wasn't ready to leave) I am so ready for my adventure to begin.
And on that note...goodbye SC...until we meet again :)
